Limited Television Miniseries: Jackal (working title, obviously)

JACKAL is a six-hour political thriller and family drama.

Set in the Washington, DC suburbs in 1972 and inspired by lived experiences of a revolutionary father-son duo and their romantic counterparts, JACKAL explores the phenomenon of the 1970s revolutionary American spirit, its grand ambitions, and its dramatic intersection with domestic life.

American frustration at the tail end of the Vietnam war; the cost of forbidden love between seemingly-ordinary (yet exceptional) women and the men they love who are poisoned by revolutionary fervor; a gritty bank heist gone awry, resulting in violence; a manhunt spanning the whole of the Eastern Seaboard; a plane hijacking to Cuba and the resulting fallout for the sympathetic women left behind in the wake of an attempted revolution: this is JACKAL, an exploration into the psychic and emotional links between “then” and “now.”

Rooted in the past but reminiscent of the anxieties and the social spectacle captivating the present, JACKAL is a period drama for our modern political moment. When balance and order feel as though they are teetering on the edge, JACKAL reminds the audience of a wild American history full of action, love, and the necessity of political tension.
